Story
Although The Teshie Foundation was established in 2022, our story started almost ten years ago when I took a trip to Ghana in West Africa volunteering at a local school. I immediately fell in love with the country, its culture, the people, the chaos and even the questionable smells! After a month in the country I returned home and was instantly itching to go back.
I spent the next few months working to fund my next trip to one of the happiest countries in the world. It was on this trip where I met Tom (our co-founder of The Teshie Foundation) and we left feeling truly inspired about doing something to help the wonderful communities who gave us so much when they had so little.
So, we decided to raise some funds and return. We supported the scholarship of a young boy to play football in America (who is now one of the highest ratest players in the entire country!!), we also bought school supplies and resources for a local football team.
Although this was amazing, and the donations we received were incredibly kind and generous- we couldn't help feeling like there is more that there is more we could do. We want to ensure that local communities are receiving sustainable support to help lift them out of the cycle of poverty.
This is how The Teshie Foundation was established. We are now working to raise vital funds to support local communities, in Ghana and across Africa to create brighter futures.
