I've raised £2000 to help fund a portable oxygen concentrator for Tess

I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension in 2008. PH is a rare and incurable heart and lung condition and is also progressive. I am very fortunate to be under the Royal Brompton PH specialist team and it is thanks to them and the daily vital PH medication, that I am still here 15 years on. As part of my medication, I have oxygen therapy, as PH causes my oxygen sats to dramatically decline. Luckily thanks to the NHS, I have a home oxygen concentrator, but I am in need of a portable oxygen concentrator.
Having a portable oxygen concentrator will mean I can take oxygen with me whenever I go out, or travel across the UK or abroad. Due to my PH symptoms recently worsening, I am now relying on oxygen daily, throughout the day. I currently use oxygen canisters from the NHS, but they only have a certain amount of oxygen in each canister, meaning they can run out at anytime. This new portable oxygen concentrator means I won’t have to worry about running out of oxygen, as I will be able to charge it wherever I go - from a plug point or in a car.
Unfortunately the portable oxygen concentrator comes at a high price which is why this fundraising event has come about. I am very lucky to have such a supportive husband, as he, alongside a few of his amazing friends have decided to run the Chelmsford 10K on 5th March 2023 to raise funds so we can purchase this portable oxygen concentrator. We've named the team Tess' Oxygenites!
We know times are difficult at the moment, but we would really appreciate your support in any possible way please. I can’t wait to get out and about without worrying about running out of oxygen.
To all our supporters, we will thank you personally and should we be fortunate enough to reach our target, any further funds will be contributed to our PH charity, the PHA UK.
We will keep you updated with how everyone’s training is going and my PH medical news in the “run” up to the event. Thank you very much for reading and for your support.
Best wishes, Tess & Terry
