Story
A huge challenge for all of us!
On 14th July, a group of 7 intrepid Tetsworth residents will be setting off on an unforgettable 100km ultra marathon walk along Britain's oldest path - The Ridgeway. We're walking from Lewknor to Avebury Stones in Wiltshire and participating in The Race to the Stones.
100km - that's over 60 miles!
Some of us are walking the entire route in one go, and some of us are walking 50km per day over 48 hours. For all of us, it's a daunting prospect! We're all novices, and although we've been training, we hope stamina and pure determination will keep us going!
Why put ourselves through this?
We're all up for the individual challenge, but importantly, we're collectively raising funds to support Friends of Tetsworth Community to help fund the rebuild of the children's playground (The Patch) on Tetsworth Village Green.
Tetsworth Village Green is home to what has been a wonderful playground. It has provided many hours of fun for the families that live here. Sadly, the equipment was pretty old, and in many places dangerous, and the park has now been demolished. Work has started on rebuilding rebuild the playground, funded by grants and local donations and fundraising, but we need to raise a bit more to fund the build of a brand new playground, including a new climbing frame, swings and adult gym equipment too.
Humans have walked the length of the Ridgeway for over 5,000 years. Now it’s our turn to take on the challenge of following in their footsteps.

We really appreciate your support! Jo, Annie, Claire, Karen, Rich, Kate, and Dawn
