Story

On Thursday 8th February from 10pm – 7am, we, the PE team at The Gordon Schools, Huntly are running our first ever sponsored “Sportathon” for S1 – S3 pupils. The event will see pupils take part in a range of sporting activities run by a mix of school staff, senior pupils, and community club coaches.
The Gordon Schools has a proud tradition of providing excellent sporting opportunities for pupils. In order to sustain and improve the quality of experience offered to young people within the school, we are reaching out to our local community to help us upgrade our existing sporting equipment. We feel that our pupils deserve the very best opportunity to reach their full potential, both within PE and in an extra-curricular environment, and any money raised would undoubtedly help us to achieve this goal.
In addition, our pupil led school sport committee have decided that local mental health and wellbeing charity, and partner of the school, Networks of Wellbeing (NoW), will also be a recipient of a percentage of the total amount raised. NoW offers a recovery focussed service providing 1:1 person centred support - as well as providing a wide range of opportunities designed to bring individuals, groups and the wider community together to engage in activities and projects aimed at increasing happiness, resilience, and physical and mental wellbeing.
Thank you in anticipation of your generosity, any donation would be gratefully received by both our school and Networks of Wellbeing!
