Story

The NHS is under significant financial pressure in providing mental health services with the high demand- in 2015/2016 alone there was an estimated 1.8 million in contact with adult mental health services. Last year colleagues came together and raised £2,000 for Mind by running 5K-10K. This year a group of staff from St. Charles Hospital will be running the 5K-10K again. This will be to help raise money for the patients that we care for.

The greatest social impacts arise from our ability to help patients with mental health to plan their journey towards their recovery. Let us all join hands together to raise money for patients with mental health problems which will be distributed on buying equipment, entertainment, activities and events etc. Overall, the aim is to make a positive impact on patients’ recovery while improving their experience and ward environment during treatment.

This is important to us because we see patients come through our door with the expectation of receiving good quality care. It is our duty to provide a therapeutic ward environment that will improve patient experience and their recovery.

As staff we are committed to continuous improvement of our service and would kindly like your support in being part of this. You might be a carer, member of staff, member of the public, friend, relative or supporter. Whoever you are please may you kindly help us make a difference! All donations are much appreciated.

Thank you !
