Story
Mr Thar Kyaw was a tour guide and station manager in the Mandalay Branch office of our partners in Myanmar. He was much loved by all those he looked after, thanks to his warm personality, great knowledge of his home land and proficiency in problem solving. In February 2017 he was diagnosed with liver cancer and passed away after a short illness with in May 2017. This came as a terrible shock to his many friends and colleagues as he was still working full time in March, and the illness took hold so quickly. Thar Kyaw was a regular guide for Bamboo Travel's clients who travelled to Myanmar, often referring to himself as “Mr Bamboo”, so we want to offer some support to his wife and family. Thar Kyaw had to leave everything behind, his professional tour guide life, his lovely wife and three charming children. His wife now has to support their children through their education from one salary, so we are hoping to raise some funds to assist her with the cost of their schooling. His elder son is an outstanding student who is attending the Myanmar Institute of Information Technology, Mandalay at Roll No. 3 (First Year). The second child is a 12 years old girl; she is studying in Grade VIII now. And the youngest girl is 7 years old, in Grade III. Any support you can give would be much appreciated!
