Story

We've been working on this project now for the last couple of years, and have now achieved charity status. Charity registered in Scotland (The Bimiri Foundation, registered with the OSCR, registration number SC048834) as well as setting up an NGO in Nepal ("Bimiri Drinking Water Project", registration number 1028, registered 26/02/2075 - this is not a typo, Nepali calendar is 56 years ahead of ours!)

Despite having a whole village full of motivated, skilled and hard working people on the ground, we are constantly running out of money as this project is not cheap and is relying on the sheer kindness of donations from the West and a small amount of support from the Nepali government.

The target set on this latest CrowdFunding page is to get us back working for the next month or two, with the tools, materials and labour we need for that long.

The next step is to excavate the area where we will be building the first reserve tank and digging down to submerge the pump (already purchased from Italy with previous donations), then we will build the pump house and start to run the power lines up to the village. This phase is.estimated at around 15 lakh Nepali rupees. (1 lakh = 100,000) so approx 10,000 GBP.

The last phase will be to build the final reserve tank which we have already dug out an area which will hold 40,000 litres of water. This tank is being built at the highest point in the area so we can then gravity feed the water down to other villages in the area. This the most expensive part of the project at an estimated cool 17,000 GBP.

We're still a long way off from the grand total (approx 27000 GBP) we need, but we will get there when we get there!
