Story

The Compassion Initiative was founded by Harry Johnson, a mental health sufferer whose painful confusion with their position in life, elicited a drive for expression, understanding of oneself and understanding of others.

The initiative has since become dedicated to establishing a better relationship between mental health and young people by educating holistically, providing a listening platform for articulation and a home to find identification among a community of inspiring individuals. We are currently in the process of sending off our charity request to become an established charitable entity in which we envision becoming a leading mental health non profit organisation which prioritises making mental healthcare easy and accessible both socially and economically.

In the meantime, we are trying to expand our Instagram and YouTube platform to create a larger presence in the community as well as developing a unique website which will bind all aspects of the initiative together. A lot of background work is currently ongoing, with the website well underway acting as a form of holistic mental health education and a source direction towards specific qualified mental health support.

We have worked along side BBC News, BBC radio Stoke, The Daniel Spargo Mabbs foundation, Youthfed and numerous other organisations up to now and plan to expand this.

As a part of the website, we are launching a clothing brand which will help to spread our initiatives awareness whilst also providing some finances to cover our website fees and clothing purchases for photo shoots.

In order to get this going, we need £500 to start off the stock for drop-shipping from our mental health oriented clothing provider (Got2HaveOne) and we also require funding to cover website costs and external support.

We do not personally profit from this what so ever and thus rely entirely on the good will of the community and more accurately the individuals whom make up that community.

Personally, we have invested over £1000 into the initiative in the last 6 months - however we are all students and require external funding to keep the initiative afloat at this present time. Any donation is appreciated and goes a long way in supporting our cause. Your cause.

Thank you - Harry Johnson, and the team at The Compassion Initiative
