Story

Hi Everyone! My name is Destiny Layokun and in November 2025 I was diagnosed with stage 2 Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of blood cancer.

The care, love and support the Haematology department and UCH Macmillan Centre showed me allowed my chemotherapy and treatment journey run smoothly. In their care, and by God’s grace, I rang the bell on Thursday 14th of May 2026. My journey of recovery has reshaped my perspective and has allowed me to grow stronger spiritually, physically and mentally.

On Saturday 1st of August 2026 I will also be hosting my first ever sports day, The DL Games, to raise money for the prevention, cure and care of cancer. Cancer affects everyone, directly or indirectly, with roughly 1 in 2 people getting it in their lifetime.

Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in supporting those affected by cancer. Your support means so much to me personally, and together we can create hope for patients and families facing this journey.

For further information on the DL Games please follow @the.dl.games on instagram. Thank you for supporting my cause and the DL Games, helping us make an impact that goes far beyond the finish line.
