Story

Hi All, here’s what team Hennell has come up with for the just giving page. We hope it’s ok.

Welcome to the just giving page for The Elliot Project.

This project has been set up in honour of an amazing man called Elliot Hennell. Elliot, sadly lost his battle with PTSD in July 2020.

The aim of The Elliot project is-

-To provide free mental health awareness training to the general public.

-To help raise awareness of mental health

-To support people during a mental health crisis.

To date the project has trained over 75 people in mental health awareness and on the 23rd January 2021, The Elliot project hosted its first ever, free First Aid Mental Heath course.

So the uk now have 14 new trained mental health first aiders!

As the world is still struggling with the coronavirus pandemic, The Elliot Project is currently reaching out to any NHS workers that would like to join one of their free mental health courses. This is our way of providing support and appreciation to them during this really difficult time.

In 2021, The Elliot project is hoping to continue its work of providing free mental health training and mental health first aid courses.

With the long term goal of offering free 1-2-1 therapy for those in need as well as personal development days for groups and organisations.

To achieve our aims we are going to need your help.

Together we really can make a difference to those struggling with their mental health and have an impact on the way people view issues surrounding mental health.

Thank you for your support, it’s truly appreciated.

Story

Walk and Talk for mental health brings you a brand new initiative which intends to prepare our nation for that awkward conversation called #TheElliotProject.

The initiative is named after a fantastic man called Elliot Hennell who sadly took his own life in July 2020. The Hennell family has rallied to support this project which is testament to the family they are.

The initiative will see over 300 people train in mental resilience and awareness between November 2020 and December 2020 by acredited MHFA instructors via zoom. Further to this our small team of volunteers and the Hennell family are working tirelessly to deliver 100% of these courses to all walks of life ABSOLUTELY FREE!

To help fund this, the Hennell family will be walking a 7 mile round trip to the cenotaph and back for Elliott's birthday in January.

We intend on giving more information out closer to the time due to current restrictions, however for now any help, support or donations are appreciated.

Thank you in advance from the Hennell family and the Walk and Talk Team.
