The Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal are not only raising awareness of prostate cancer, but also provide vital, non invasive testing days, not only at Burnley Football Club, but now at many other football clubs up and down the country.

Why this charity??...Well, apart from the above mentioned, had it not have been for Burnley Football Club holding a testing day back in September 2017, Tony, Anthony's Dad, story could have been a whole lot different!

Tony had heard about the event and popped into the Turf for the test, having no symptoms and no concerns, yet his test from that date resulted in positive to prostate cancer. Without the test provided free of charge, avoiding the stigma trip to the GP that most men seem to deny, this awful disease would have gone undetected.

Thankfully, and very gratefully, Tony has completed treatment and now has the all clear. A strong advocate for the charity he says he owes his life to taking this simple blood test!

With that in mind, Anthony wanted to do something to raise money, not only as a thank you to the charity for providing the test that in effect saved his dads life, but to allow the charity to continue with the testing days and raising the awareness of the disease. What better way to do it than to GET RID OF THE BLOODY BEARD!!

He's grown very attached to it over the past three years and we're confident there's a few (possibly hundred) people that would pay to see it go. Add to that that, as Ryan was the one to stir the pot on the idea even more so, Anthony has called his bluff and raised the stakes so if we hit....sorry.....WHEN we hit 5K, Ryan has to have his head shaved too. Win, win!

So dig deep folks, not only for a worthy cause, but to end the beard trimming days!
