Story

🌲 The Outsiders Club – Opening the Outdoors for Everyone

The Outsiders Club is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving the lives of neurodiverse individuals, those living with trauma, and their families — by giving them life-changing access to the healing power of the outdoors.

We believe that nature, adventure and community are powerful tools for healing, confidence-building and inclusion. Yet too many people face barriers — physical, social or emotional — that keep them from enjoying the benefits of the natural world. We’re here to change that.

🌄 What We Do

Through our work, we:

• Deliver specialist outdoor skills training such as bushcraft, navigation and first aid, tailored to neurodiverse people and their families.

• Provide free access to guided hikes, climbing sessions and outdoor events that build confidence, resilience and social connection.

• Run inclusive public hikes led by qualified Mountain Leaders to create a safe, welcoming community for all.

• Offer an annual therapeutic support programme, providing up to ten beneficiaries each year with personalised counselling or mentoring.

• Promote social prescribing and outdoor therapy as practical, evidence-based interventions, working with healthcare professionals to embed these approaches into mainstream support.

• Advocate for change, engaging with policymakers, employers and the NHS to improve how neurodiversity and trauma are understood and supported in the UK.

• Raise awareness through events, fundraising challenges and a weekly podcast featuring voices from the outdoor world.

🧭 Our Vision

We want a world where everyone belongs outdoors — where neurodiverse individuals and trauma survivors can explore, grow and connect without barriers or stigma.

💚 Why We’re Fundraising Now

We are currently in the process of registering The Outsiders Club with the Charity Commission, which takes around 16 weeks to complete.

This initial fundraising round will enable us to begin supporting individuals and families in need right away, rather than waiting for the registration process to finish.

Your early support will help us launch our first outdoor sessions, provide specialist training, and start offering therapeutic support to those who need it most.

🚶‍♀️ Join Our Community

Our monthly walks are open to everyone, and we’d love to see you join us out on the trails — whether you’re neurodiverse, supporting someone who is, or simply passionate about inclusion and the outdoors.

Follow our journey, get involved, and help us grow by following and sharing our social media pages. Every like, share and comment helps raise awareness and brings us closer to reaching more people who could benefit from our work.

🌿 How You Can Help

Every donation — big or small — makes a real difference. Your contribution will directly fund outdoor programmes, counselling support, and inclusive training that empower neurodiverse individuals and trauma survivors to thrive.

Together, we can open the outdoors for everyone.

Thank you for supporting The Outsiders Club. 🌄
