Story

We are so excited to return to Edinburgh Festival Fringe for our 2025 show: ‘The Oxford Belles: Saved by the Belles’! After the success of our sell-out 2023 show: ‘Aca-ting Out’, we are looking forward to once again entertaining the crowds of Edinburgh with our voices, but we need all the help we can get to make it happen!

We are an all-female and non-binary a cappella group of students from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University whose goal is to raise awareness against prejudice and defy the stereotypes found within the male-dominated music scene in Oxford. We perform termly concerts across Oxford, collaborate with other a cappella groups, lead workshops in local schools, and take part in charity events.

Our work supports a range of causes. In 2024, we released our charity EP ‘Re-Belle-ion’ to raise funds for Inspiring Girls International and Women at WISH. We also supported Galop, a UK charity helping LGBTQ+ survivors of abuse and violence, by donating a portion of ticket sales from our pride concert, ‘Funk the Patriarchy’.

Even with all the support we get from our concerts and the university, we still need your help! Going to Fringe is costly, and the Belles need some assistance in order to get us there. Our costs are the following:

- Venue hire: £500

- Accommodation: £2,200

- Microphones: approx. £550

- Marketing: £150

- Sound, lighting, and film technician: £800

As individuals, we’re already paying money towards all parts of the breakdown, but we are hoping to raise £1,000 to help cover some of our costs. To help achieve our goal, please consider donating any amount you can - no matter how small!

You can find our music on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, or find out more about us through our website. We cannot wait to see you in Edinburgh for 18th-23rd of August!
