The Poppy Memorial Team is run by a group of volunteers and all money raised goes to 3 great charities: British Legion, Help for Heroes and St Nicholas Church. Last year we raised over £8,000.00 by using buckets and day events and we found we couldn't reach out to the people around the world who kept asking how can we donate? This year we are back for one more event which will involve illuminating the St Nicholas Church with the floating poppies and switching on search lights across the valley at High Bradfield, Sheffield S6 6LG on 14th October 2016 for the Battle of the Somme Remembrance and Red White and Blue Day Celebration. The event will start at 2.00pm and involve local schools, choirs, bell ringing, 50 gun salute and a spectacular light illumination along with a service In honour of all those who have lost loved ones and respect to the fallen from the WW1 Battle of the Somme.
