I've raised £5000 to fund a "library van", to get The Square Peg book, toys and sensory library out and about to groups and families.

Esther, the founder of The Square Peg, is getting out of the office and running The Monster half-marathon around the Fens on September 24th.
No big deal you say, everyone does at least half-marathons these days.
Esther doesn't. The best she's done is third in the parent's egg and spoon race at school sports day. And she cheated. People have tried to entice her before. "It'll be great fun!" they say. Esther knows they are lying.
But she's getting out of the office for the best reason she can think of.
We've got some great stuff in our office. A library full of information and books; sensory equipment, from swings and boxing bags to fiddle toys and fidget spinners. We have toys and crafts galore, all for children and adults with additional needs. And we have the expertise and the knowledge to help families, with workshops, sports and activity groups, and talks to inform and support professionals and parents alike.
But that's where it is: in our office.
We're here to solve the problem of isolation felt by any member of the community, whether it's children and adults with additional needs, their parents partners and wider family, or professionals who need some signposting and information on how best to serve.
A van would get the library of books, toys and equipment out of our office and on the road, out to those who want to feel connected to a wider community, and who want to find out that they aren't alone. We then set up in your community hall and run support groups on lots of topics, sensory experiences for children with our resident Sensory Integration practitioner or awareness workshops for professionals in any field.
And it would save Esther having to run anywhere. Ever. Again.
