Triathlon for The Zohar Dean Trust

At the end of July I’ll be undertaking my first ever triathlon. It’s a 1.5KM swim, then 40KM bike ride then 10KM run in succession.

It’s quite a challenge Ive set myself (as Im noooot a swimmer) but I wanted to ask you to consider donating in memory of this special person and I wanted it to be actually hard work I put into it for that reason.

Most people will know that nearly two years ago we lost Zohar which I continue to feel the ripple effects of all the time. I think back to that time of summer 2022 and it’s all a haze - it felt like we were floating but I just remember thinking we can’t let this be it, we need Zohar to be remembered and we need to do something, create some more community to honour his gorgeous memory. He was such a person and it’s too rough to think what he’d be doing rn, who he’d be, what he’d see, the way it would’ve all turned out. Zohar was truly a bright light shining through everyone’s lives.

As a result, again as most of you will know, we set up The Zohar Dean Trust in his memory and have since then raised a lot of money for causes supporting young people, which I think he’d appreciate. From creating community for young refugees arriving in the UK, to bursaries for families of the own youth movement we were a part of; to giving other young people like Zohar the chance to get into Physics and other STEM subjects - I believe the causes we’ve supported so far are very meaningful and impactful.

I also know that the two year mark arriving of Zohar's passing will be another difficult milestone and I’m hoping this will help ground me and bring some crucial reflection time when I‘ll need it.
