Story

Collections for the fund are now closed and we are distributing the remaining funds.

The 343 is raising funds for people in the queer community on the island of Ireland who have been profoundly affected by Covid19, particularly those with multiple marginalised identities such as QTIPOC. These funds are for anyone who needs them to buy groceries/hormones/other supplies over the next few months due to unemployment, work instability, illness, etc.

We know that statistically LGBTQ people are more likely work in gig work, hospitality or within sex work; all industries that have essentially ceased to function due to the current crisis. 40% of LGBTQ youth also identify as homeless and 20% of LGBTQ people live in poverty. We also know that queer people are less likely to visit the doctor than others. In total the current crisis has a massive effect on LGBTQ people and it's with this understanding that we've created a hardship fund.

We will directly distribute to money to those in need from any funds raised here as well as all funds raised through The 343 website (www.the343.com) for the next 3 months minimum.

If you are in need of support the form is available now at www.the343.com/mutualaid
