I've raised £2500 to Create a fun, exciting video cartoon of the ecological exploits of a polar bear, a bumblebee & a penguin determined to save the North Pole.

Three friends - Bye, an orphan polar bear, Grumbleby, a bumblebee driven off course by global warming, and Persephone, a penguin with special powers from an advanced civilisation under the Antarctic ice - are on a mission to stop the melting of the North Pole. Adventures include saving a polar research station from permafrost collapse, rescuing Bye, washed out to sea in a blizzard, (see draft video above), preventing a second Titanic disaster, and knitting Grumbleby a woolly muff to stop him freezing to death! They constantly find themselves up against Donald Dumbo, whose plan is to exploit the precious resources uncovered by the receding ice - no matter what the environmental cost.
So children learn that, no matter how different individuals and species may seem, we are all as profoundly interconnected as are the individual fingers of our hands. And since that exquisite harmony makes them our most wonderful physical tools, so the interdependence of all species is the vital key to all creativity and healing - for Earth, and so for ourselves.
where they stimulate discussion and the arts, especially when linked with the ‘Earth Juggle’ involving the usually ignored sports departments (participants mark balls to represent the planet, and have a wonderful time keeping them ‘flying as high as possible’! It’s also a great way to raise support for local environmental initiatives, through sponsorship and other means: https://paulbaker2004.wixsite.com/thearthballchallenge
In producing an exciting and intriguing fully-animated series, we'll also be able to offer it as a pilot to Netflix, YouTube and other global media companies, as well as more traditional outlets, such as the BBC. As the urgency intensifies, Bye and his friends may very well find themselves increasingly welcomed.
Average animation studio costs around £15,000/US$20,000 for 90 second video!
We are skilled in animation, video-editing, social media, and so on. But for this project, we need a much higher-powered computer capable of running high-grade software. Here in Nicaragua, one such computer costs roughly £750/US$1,000. Add to that web design and development, outreach, internet, phone, travel and other costs – not forgetting the rice and beans - and we’re initially looking to raise £2,500/US$3400. Please donate to help us bring this exciting venture to fruition. You’ll receive regular updates, draft videos, and other tit-bits, as well as previews of all final versions of the adventures. We’ll be delighted to receive your thoughts, comments and adventure ideas as we go forward. Right now the job is to get the project really going. Therefore, besides donating yourself if possible, please share this page with your family and friends, plus any community and faith groups you may belong to. And of course go mad on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc. Thank you.
