I've raised £1500 to Fund a memorial for The 'Basingstoke Eight'

On the 11th of February 1978 Eight young lads set off from Basingstoke to see their team, Millwall play at Southampton in a league match. Most of them were sons of London overspill families who had moved to the town and were aged around 19.
Sadly they never made it and all of them lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the way to the game. It is our aim to raise enough for a plaque to be made and engraved and sited at Millwall Football Club as an everlasting memorial to the eight lads. The memorial will be engraved with the club badge and an equally spaced tribute message, including all their names as followed.
'THE BASINGSTOKE EIGHT'
In memory of eight young Lions, all aged around 19, who tragically lost their lives in a road accident,
on their way to watch Millwall play at Southampton on February 11th 1978.
