Story

In February 2017 my life changed forever as I was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy. However, by surviving I have been given an opportunity to make a positive difference. I was very lucky that it was detected and I now have my very own defibrillator in my chest to save my life. 80% of cases like mine are diagnosed post mortem.

I want to make it my mission to raise awareness about heart conditions like Cardiomyopathy. Challenge preconceptions about Heart Conditions and who gets them, everyone is always really shocked to learn that heart conditions kill twice as many women as any cancer but for some reason we generally associate them with men.

As an actress it made most sense to me to develop a play to create awareness, in the hope that we can prevent more sudden deaths and provide support for those already affected.

Unfortunately we haven't been successful with the Arts Council at this stage so I have started this crowdfunding page so that we can raise what funds we can. The money will pay the actors, the writer and practitioners for their time and the theatre space to rehearse in and show the work we create.

I don't expect those to donate who can't but if you know anyone who can, or someone who might be personally affected, please share the project with them.
