Story
Hi! We are The Access Champions; a group of young disabled adults passionate about improving accessibility for the disabled community
We are four years old and each year, we have achieved more than we believed possible.
However, as always, we are determined to work harder, achieve more and really put our mark on the disabled community.
October 2018 saw us co-produce Peterborough's Big Youth Shout Out Film (BYSO); a co-production project, looking at the hopes, dreams and aspirations of Peterborough's young disabled community. This was an amazing opportunity for us, and we are so proud of what we achieved (we even had a red carpet event to premiere the film, so please do check this out via a quick Google search!)
The project also looked at the services young people would like to see in their area which included places where they can meet new people, try new things and receive free, confidential advice at a level they can understand on topics relevant and important to them, e.g. housing, education, employment.
As co-producers of the BYSO, we, The Access Champions, are now working to deliver this service to the individuals we met when making the film.
EVERY PENNY donated will go towards the funding, organising and hosting of these accessible, regular social activities requested by these truly inspiring people that encompass all of the above plus more.
Whether you donate £5 or £50, all donations will be gratefully received and will go a long way to enhancing the lives of these people.
Thank you,
The Access Champions

5 years agoMount Snowdon = Conquered JustGiving target = Reached Not once did our young people complain, grumble or moan, despite the rain, despite being wet through and despite there being no let up of these conditions! We did it and now's the time to celebrate! There is still time to donate to help the disabled community in Peterborough, the Access Champions deserve every penny! Peterborough
Hello!! We're The Access Champions; a group of young disabled adults, creating positive changes for the disabled community. In May 2019, we climbed up AND down Snowdon in heavy winds and rain to raise funds to set up regular social events for Peterborough's disabled community.
