The Coastline Runner will start from Great Yarmouth on Monday, the 1st of November, and complete the Norfolk coastline by Christmas!

This is the UN's Decade of Ocean Science and sustainable development. This is the year that The Coastline Runner starts covering the coastline of the British Isles, collecting plastic rubbish as he goes.

Plastic rubbish and waste, damages environments, economies and wildlife. The Coastline Runner will aim to run the UK's coastline this year, picking up plastic waste with One bag zero waste (#1BzW) and finding out what local authorities actually do with it. This is a program educating school pupils about the UN's SDGs, the circular economy and the waste hierarchy. Norfolk County Councillor, Andrew Jamieson said

We should all join The Coastline Runner, on Norfolk’s beautiful coast, and beyond!

From Great Yarmouth, Norfolk's coastline is approx 60 miles - therefore £10 a mile = £600.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable frenetic Friday today. My six-week silence was due to recovery, more details are here: In short, The coastline runner mission is going to be starting again in February - onwards and upwards (literally up to Lincolnshire). Will keep you posted when I start again, but the news is great!

Short report appears at I have had two hospital visits in the last week, with the next tomorrow. I am back on a crutch and in pain when walking, but the antibiotics worked. My toe will survive. But now I am unable to run, or hobble even, as I am on a crutch. This makes me feel bad as you gave money, through this JustGiving page, towards me “cracking Norfolk by Christmas” in my Coastline Running (#coastlinerunner). Have a good Christmas everyone.

Nurse to Doctor - "..... it is looking a bit necrotic..." BUT Good news - the coastlinerunner mission resumes on Monday! Toe checked and redressed – the antibiotics are working and I have shed my crutch. Thank you A and E and the Urgent Care Unit for prescribing me antibiotics for my “looking a bit necrotic toe”. Full update here - - the #coastlinerunner will momentarily become the #coastlinehobbler, to get the job done (that you have so greatly supported!
