Story
Camilla was diagnosed with scoliosis a couple of years ago and has had to wear a rigid back brace to try to stop it worsening. Her recent xrays show her to have a 48 degree curve which will increase as she grows. Normally an operation to insert metal rods would be done for anyone with a curve like Camilla's - sadly though she also has a syrinx cyst in her spinal cord which is likely to make surgery impossible. Camilla also has something called mitral regurgitation which is a ripped mitral valve in the heart. She now faces heart surgery in the next few months and this will mean that she is unlikely to be able to wear the hard back brace provided for her on the NHS and so we want to try to raise enough money to send her to have a privately fitted Spinecor back brace which is soft and flexible rather than a hard brace and should actually start to correct her scoliosis so she may never actually need to risk the spine operation. Thank you all for helping her.
