Disability support

Story

Our charity first started 54 years ago in the very heart of Derry. Our aim over so many years has been to fundraise to be able to pay for fares to Lourdes for the sick. Every year we manage to hit our target by fundraising in various ways. This year we have opened a charity shop in strand road to help raise the funds to make these trips go ahead and to also help us raise the funds to purchase a coach. As a charity we feel no one should be prevented from travelling because of a disability so we are more anxious to complete the purchase of a wheelchair adapted 18 seated coach. Since we first started our charity we have taken cancer patients, kidney dialysis patients and so many more ill patients with different diseases. along the way we have sponsored 2 kidney dialysis machines to the hospital in Lourdes, we have donated 12 wheelchairs and 10 beds also to the hospital. As a community we have worked together by knitting squares and making blankets with that help we have managed to take 3300 knitted blankets along with us to donate to the Lourdes hospital. As a charity we are a cross community and aim to help everyone in need from those who have a terminal illness to those who have a long term illness to those who are struggling with addictions ect. we have helped many dreams come true from weddings in Lourdes , renewal of wedding vows and even first communions. Please help us raise these funds by donating on this just giving page thank you for you support.
