Story

We, at The Dunbar Project CIC, are on a mission to provide crucial support to adult adoptees as they navigate the often challenging journey of healing from the trauma of adoption. Many adult adoptees face profound mental health challenges stemming from their unique life experiences.

Our charity, The Dunbar Project CIC, has become a beacon of hope for adoptees seeking understanding and healing. Through support groups, we've witnessed the transformative power of art and poetry in helping our community find their voices and share their complex and emotional stories.

Now, we need your support to embark on a special project – creating a Poetry Zine by adoptees, adorned with their unique artwork. This collaborative effort will serve as a powerful platform for adoptees to express their emotions, struggles, and triumphs. By sharing their stories through the art of poetry, our community aims to raise awareness about the multifaceted experiences of adoption.

We're seeking funds to make this project a reality, and we've heard the heartfelt request from our community - they want the proceeds to go back into The Dunbar Project Charity. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of adult adoptees, ensuring that they continue to receive the support and resources they deserve.

Join us in amplifying adoptee voices and fostering healing through the expressive mediums of art and poetry. Your donation will not only make this Poetry Zine project possible but will also contribute to the ongoing work of The Dunbar Project CIC in providing vital support for adoptees on their journey to healing.

Every contribution counts, and together, we can create a powerful narrative of resilience, strength, and community. Thank you for being a part of our mission to empower adoptees and make their voices heard! 🌈📚💙

The Dunbar Project have been a lifeline for me. I think they have quite genuinely helped keep me here. They've certainly helped me flourish. They created a free "Adoptees Healing" community for adoptees to come together and heal through educational and healing workshops, fun activities and food! Finding other adults who have similar experiences, speaking the same emotional language as me have been really amazing.
