The Feel Good Community CIC is a one stop shop and alternative support services for individuals affected by mental illness. From walking sessions to Community Shop, to Community events, you name it we provide it. Mental illness does not discriminate and we want to make essential services like ours accessible to those that need it most. We set up this fundraiser because there is so much more that is needed and we cannot do it without the necessary resources.

Our Founder and Director, Rochelle knows all to well the affects of mental illness as she suffered from Postpartum Depression with all of her children. Growing up she was aware of how fragile the mind can be and unfortunately due to the taboo associated with mental illness, she suffered in silence. The Feel Good Community CIC was birthed from her own painful experience so that we can end the stigma and find alternative and accessible ways to cope with mental illness.

Our focus is to promote positive mental wellbeing and to level the playing field linked to the disparities associated with mental health and underrepresented communities. We specifically target the black community for a number of reasons but mainly due to the lack of care when dealing with individuals from this community that require mental health support.

We are raising funds to help cover core costs so that we can focus our efforts on supporting those in need rather than wondering where our next £1 is coming from. We would like to expand our Wellbeing Programme to offer more physical and mental activities. We would like to host more community focused events (see our last Community Summer Party) to reduce isolation. Our guests said that “these types of events bring us closer together. I felt a real sense of being part of the community“.

We are aiming to provide services for individuals in need of a more hands on approach such as befriending or inclusive and interactive group sessions. This fund will also contribute towards venue hire as we work towards having a space of our own.

We will be walking, running, hiking cycling and more to not only improve our mental health but to encourage you to do the same. We will be showing you updates of our progress to prove to you how serious we are about what we do. The benefits are immeasurable and this way we hit 2 birds with one stone.

These activities are open to all and is targeted towards individuals that for one reason or another haven't been able to include it in their daily/weekly routines. We will be busy parents, business owners, elderly individuals with mobility issues or those that have just overcome a mental health crisis. We want you all to get active with us and improve the wellbeing of our community together.

Our community needs us now more than ever, please do not delay and donate today.
