Story

On 20th September 2018, Claire Thompson and I are planning to complete a 15 mile sponsored walk from Queen Street Wolverhampton, to New Street Birmingham (via High Street West Bromwich, High Street Bearwood and Cape Hill Smethwick) in aid of five local charity and community groups that work directly within the areas that we will walk.

The sponsorship that we raise is to be split equally between these five groups, which are:

The Haven Refuge Wolverhampton - who support women and dependent children who are vulnerable to abuse, domestic abuse and homelessness.

YMCA Black Country Group - who provide support and opportunities for young people to develop across the black country and south staffordshire, tackling issues such as housing, finding work, childcare and addiction.

BUDS (Better Understanding of Dementia for Sandwell) - who aim to improve the quality of life for people experiencing Dementia, their families and carers living in the borough of Sandwell.

Warley Woods Community Trust - who manage historical woodland and parkland in the Warley area.

Autism West Midlands - who provide specialist support for people with Autism and their families.

Claire and I have been working together across the West Midlands for just under two years, and we feel very passionate about being able to give back to the community around us. By creating this crowdfunding project we will be able to ensure that our sponsorship raised can be split equally across these very deserving local causes. We hope that you will kindly donate and help us to achieve our goal of £200.
