I've raised £5000 to Help fund an innovative arts event inspired by the natural world & held at the iconic South Hill Barn in Seaford, East Sussex.

We are a not for profit creative collective working hard to develop our beloved town of Seaford into a hub for contemporary illustration, printmaking & design through ambitious arts events, exhibitions and workshops. We hope we can give fellow artists and makers’ the confidence to exhibit and work here too building creative tourism and boosting the entire community’s economy.
Our events are accessible to all ages and offer a unique creative outlet for children of all abilities through diverse free art workshops.
SCIP is funded by the community and businesses across the country. Sales of artworks from our exhibitions and online enable us to produce critically acclaimed arts projects benefiting our town and county.
What's Coming Up Next?
In August 2019 we will be launching ‘The Green Show’. The first event ever held at Seaford’s treasured South Hill Barn, situated on the top of Seaford Head between the beach and Cuckmere Haven. This is an extraordinary venue to be using and we are delighted to be supported by Seaford Town Council to host the first event that will be open to the public.
The entire event explores themes of nature, landscape and climate change with a collection of extraordinary artworks by over 30 of the UK’s finest Illustrators and printmakers including SIR QUENTIN BLAKE, DONNA WILSON, KARL JAMES MOUNTFORD, PAUL THURLBY, PIPPA DYRLAGA, GRAHAM CARTER, SAM CHIVERS, KITTY MCCALL AND MORE.
All the art will be available to view and purchase throughout the event – the profits will cover any outstanding costs and enable us to continue providing creative events for Seaford and East Sussex.
We will also be showing moving image for the first time, with a series of short films and documentaries about the Sussex landscape, the Rampion Wind Farm, Seaford’s Plastic Free campaign, the nature reserve and many more. This will be open every day and free to watch.
Visitors can contribute to our interactive art installation and book on to our art workshop program too. These will be available to all ages and free where possible.
And our free lecture nights are going to be a new addition too with some incredible speakers joining us to speak about our environment, the arts and our local landscapes.
The Green Show is just the beginning, we hope this incredible event will help us on our plans to secure a permanent exhibition space, a centre of excellence for contemporary arts in Seaford. We need funding to help make this a reality, whilst still offering free art workshops for the children of our town and engaging arts events.
It has been proven in studies across the world that when a community has an event they can feel proud of then individuals feel closer to each other, feel part of something and this naturally contributes to a sense of general well-being!
SCIP need your help to make events like The Green Show a regular thing!
Your donation will enable us to continue running free workshops, networking evenings and lecture nights in Seaford. With your help we can build a cultural community which brings tourism into our town and help strengthen our entire town.
We will use our funding to ensure that the children of our town can connect with the arts, can find creative outlets for the good of their mental health. With arts disappearing from the curriculum it is vital to us that these opportunities will be accessible to every family regardless of family income.
Long term your donation will help our work towards securing a permanent space in Seaford, weather that be developing an old building or building a new one we will find a way! We believe that houses are not the only thing that make a town - arts, culture, and attractions are the essence that brings them to life.
