Thornhill U11s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
On 22nd August 2026, the players, parents, coaches and supporters of Thornhill U11s will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to help raise funds for winter indoor training facilities for our team.
Grassroots football is about far more than what happens on a Sunday morning. It’s about teamwork, confidence, friendships, resilience and giving children a positive place to grow and develop together.
With 22 brilliant kids in our squad, keeping training consistent through the winter months is hugely important. Unfortunately, bad weather and frozen pitches often mean cancelled sessions, disrupted routines and missed opportunities for development. By raising funds for indoor pitch hire over winter, we can give the team a safe and reliable place to train, stay active and continue progressing whatever the weather.
To help make that happen, we’re stepping well outside our comfort zones and taking on one of Yorkshire’s toughest walking challenges. Covering around 24 miles across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, the Yorkshire Three Peaks is no easy task, but neither is running a grassroots football team entirely through volunteers, fundraising and community support.
Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards helping provide indoor winter training for the children and keeping football accessible, active and enjoyable throughout the season.
Thank you for supporting our team, our families and our young players. Your support genuinely makes a difference.
