In Greater Manchester and the UK in general, there is a burgeoning housing crisis of nonpriority homeless, created in part by local councils new charges to landlords, who have thus decided to sell properties and evict tennants.

With no tenancy agreements and left without homes, many people are unable to afford a deposit and rent to access other accommodation, as they on 0-hour contract temp work with no savings.With this kind of uncertain work you cant refuse a shift, even if your in a difficult situation(like homelessness) or that work will be given to others.This has left some who are mainly young,healthy,willing and capable to work people, trapped in a homeless limbo, given little or no help by the council.

If your young, healthy and homeless, you are in an impossible situation concerning attaining a property to rent.

You may be given a certain number of points for housing 100 for being a local resident and 20 for homelessness. with the maximum being 150pts. But you would never win a bid, there will always be someone with more points than you, with higher priority, like points for enduring mental health issues or points for children.

Accessing council accomodation is very hard.Accessing private rented accommodation is even harder, with some landlords demanding a guarantor as well as a deposit and a months rent in advance. The process can sometimes takes months, even sometimes a year or more.

Even worse some people find that sleeping rough preferable to dangerous and run down, mice infested, over charging, dignity stripping b&b's or unsupported accomodation with drug dealers and bullying.

Given no options except go to go to A&E or to sleep in the Airport departure lounge.People instead choose to "brave it," in a tent. But as we all know even in warmer months Britain can be a very cold and wet place and a simple tent is not enough.Making a fire can be dangerous, impossible and also a very time consuming task. People need to be insulated from the the cold and kept dry.

This crowdfund hopes to achieve £6000 to design & build 10 (or more if possible) insulated portable "Dome homes." inspired by Max Wallack's WGBH’s Design Squad “Trash to Treasure” winning homeless shelter design featuring a built-in bed. But we want to use a lot more enduring material like silicone instead of packing peanuts and have it partly inflatable for insulation as well as make it folding and portable so it can be set up easily,packed and stored. We also want to give it a window.

The Dome homes will be ventilated, fireproof and safety checked by qualified professionals and donated to the The Wellspring: Charity For the Homeless in Stockport* .They will be lent(and expected to be cared for) by those people who have more of a chance of finding work and sustaining employment while temporarily street homeless, with these portable shelters making life easier and helping relieve them from the cold energy sapping night, to do do that while sleeping rough.

Please help fund this initiative to help those in desperate need, who recieve no help from else where else and let's help get healthy, work capable people who've been unlucky, in getting back to life with a little bit more warmth,comfort and security when given no choice by authorities, but to sleep rough.

Let's actually do something to help those who are homeless with an innovative solution.
