Story
The war in Ukraine has resulted in many families fleeing to other countries, including England, in search of refuge. In support of this cause The Insulation Assurance Authority (IAA) are looking to collectively raise money through a range of activities.
The IAA have gifted a 2-bed property, located in Watford, for a 12 month period and aim to raise £10,000 to cover essentials including bills, furniture and general living costs for the family.
To raise money will be hosting a range of activities for employees, friends and family as well as members throughout the next year and welcome donations from the general public. To kick start our fundraising social calendar we are hosting two fundraising walks.
Fundraising walks:
Together we aim to walk the distance from Kyiv to England and with your support we welcome you to join us on these journeys. Coordinating two individual walks, with each consisting of 26 people walking 26 miles and will take place on:
Sunday 26th June - Leighton Buzzard head office to the property in Watford – 26 miles
Saturday 20th August - The property in Watford to the Leighton Buzzard head office – 26 miles
How can you support?
1) Option 1 – A member can sponsor an individual to participate within a walk one way for £250. They will be able to provide their branded t-shirt for an individual to wear
2) Option 2 – Walk a distance of your choice and donate £25 per mile
3) Option 3 - Donate an amount of your choice
More information can be found on our fundraising page: www.theiaa.co.uk/fundraising
Other activities:
Throughout the fundraising social calendar we will also be looking to host additional activities including employee bake sales, raffles, food and toiletry donation boxes, furniture donations, quizzes and a race bike/rowing challenge. If you have any suggestions or would like to support our Just Giving page in another way, please email enquiries@theaa.co.uk.
The Ukrainian family will come to the UK with virtually nothing. We aim to provide a welcome pack including food, toiletries and everyday essentials. Over the course of the year, we will continue to offer this family our support and if possible provide career employment options." - CEO of The IAA
