The Lion Gym (The Lion Strength & Fitness Academy Charity Number 1170725) website info@theliongym.co.uk in association with Centre Point (Charity Number 292411) website centrepoint.org.uk has been temporarily forced to close down its facility due to the Coronavirus pandemic and it is currently suffering from mounting debt since we have no classes or gym membership payment - we are hoping to re-open once the government's ban is lifted. The Lion Gym's aims are to provide boxing, self-defence, health and fitness to all people (young and old) without any financial barriers. We also have a satellite boxing club at Centrepoint Bradford where we promote health and wellbeing to 16-25 year old homeless individuals who benefit from our boxing, self defence and fitness classes . However all our charity work has been forced to stop due to the the pandemic and 100's of people are losing out from a valuable service that we provide. Over the years our boxing club and gym facility has helped many young people and adults learn self-defence when they were being bullied at School, instill respect for all after the coaches have worked closely with various troubled and on the verge of crime individuals diverting them away from such life, built confidence especially with people suffering mental health and low esteem, social development, discipline and respect and also provided various educational topics through our external partners like the police.
