Hello,

We're Katie and Olly, Founders of The Little Comforts Trust, and parents to three daughters. Sadly, in October 2019, we welcomed our first two daughters, identical twins Poppy and Dottie into the world silently, following a battle with Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Our labour was very sudden and unexpected, and so we had nothing prepared for a hospital stay. We were able to spend time in a specialist bereavement suite, under the care of the most incredible staff, but during this time we craved being able to do regular things such as put on deodorant and brush our teeth. Unfortunately, the hospital were unable to provide any items for us despite their best efforts to grab a few things when they could. We quickly decided that we would love to be able to give back and help other parents who may sadly find themselves in a similar position, and so The Little Comforts Trust was created.

Each Comfort Pack will provide parents with everyday hygiene essentials for use during their hospital stay. Included are shampoo, shower gel and soaps, flannels, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand gel, deodorant, hair ties and grips, lip balms and other items with the aim to help parents feel slightly more comfortable during a difficult time. We are currently providing Comfort Packs to hospitals all around the UK, and we have a fantastic team of trustees on board to help us with this.

We are in the very long process of becoming a registered charity, and so we need some help with that. We are hoping to raise an amount of £5000 which will help us with the continual running of our charity. Each pack costs an average of £8 to make, and providing these can help hospitals relieve some of the pressures and worries for bereaved parents.
