The Mansion, Totnes is a community building and home to the town's library, Rainbow Nursery, Caring Town Totnes, Transition Town Totnes, Action to Prevent Suicide, NHS Social prescribers, Totnes Caring, Resilient Lives, Totnes Bike Hub, The Edgy Veggie Kitchen, the Climate Hub and many other organisations. The Mansion Courtyard is a traffic-free child-safe space that is host to a range of markets, community activities and events and is open to the public year-round. We want to better support our community using outside spaces and create improved facilities for public markets, community events, and the general public.

We have plans to carry out alterations to: (1) improve accessibility to the Mansion cafe, (2) extend the flexible year-round seating and all weather cover in the courtyard for everyone, (3) provide water for humans and other animals, (4) extend weather-proof electrical points around the courtyard, (5) improve planting, both edible and ornamental, and (6) enhance the signage.
