Carrying Mark’s Legacy Forward: The Mark Williams Foundation

This Foundation has been created with love, purpose, and deep resolve by me, Nicola Williams – Mark’s wife – to carry forward the mission that Mark didn’t get the chance to complete himself.

Mark Williams was many things – a devoted husband, an inspiring leader, a passionate entrepreneur, and most of all, someone who believed in standing up for others. He had a fierce commitment to justice, fairness, and opportunity. He never sought praise, but quietly made it his mission to help those who were being failed by the system – because he had walked in their shoes.

Before Mark passed away suddenly in 2023, he had begun laying the groundwork for two causes that were incredibly close to his heart:

Legal Support for Fathers: Mark knew first-hand how painful and unjust it can be when fathers are pushed out of their children's lives. He believed that no loving father should be forced out of their child’s life simply because they couldn’t afford legal representation. He saw a glaring gap, fathers who didn’t qualify for legal aid, yet couldn’t afford the spiralling costs of litigation. Mark was adamant this had to change. He planned to create a charity which would employ expert legal advice to help these dads fight for their right to parent.

Entrepreneurship for Young People: Mark also believed passionately in the power of entrepreneurship, not just as a career path, but as a mindset. He often said that school never showed him the path he eventually forged for himself. He was determined to change that for the next generation. He had already begun working on an “Entrepreneur Apprenticeship” scheme to help school leavers take their first step into business with real mentoring and support.

Mark always said that once he could step back from the day-to-day pressures of business, not retire, because anyone who knew Mark knows he would never have “retired” – he would put his time and energy into these causes. Sadly, he never got that chance.

So I’m doing it for him.

The Mark Williams Foundation has been set up to honour the legacy of a man who never stopped fighting for people. It will do what Mark had set out to do:

– Provide legal support and guidance to fathers who are battling to stay in their children’s lives.

– Fund and deliver practical entrepreneurship support to young people, particularly those who might never otherwise be exposed to it.

This Foundation is not just in Mark’s name – it is Mark’s vision. It reflects who he was, what he stood for, and the future he wanted to help build. If you knew Mark, I’m sure he spoke to you about one or both of these ideas. Now, I’m asking for your help to make them a reality. Every donation helps us get closer to doing what Mark would be doing himself – helping others, quietly and powerfully.
