Story

Hi guys 👋🏼 ,this is kinda a hard post to write 😓✍🏻but I’m sure many new/small businesses have had to come to the realisation and write one at some point in the lockdown 🔒

After further announcements from welsh government we are yet to have any clarity when we would potentially be able to open the doors for public to visit and of course we understand the reasons why but what it really means for us the meadows animals is that there is zero income coming in.😫We are trying our best with promoting the cafe for waffles, crepes and other culinary dishes 🥞🧇🍝🍓just to bring in a small amount of profit to help but this sadly just isn’t enough.

Just this week alone besides the daily/weekly/monthly feed bills.

We have had the below carried out

9 castrated rabbits🐇

4 needing further treatment 💊

4 female rabbits spayed 🐰

2 dental 🦷appts for Mabel the donkey who received sedation and treatment to create a gap to avoid a build up of lodged grass.

Maisie horse whose recently had tooth extraction and receiving further treatment 3 weeks of pain relief and course of antibiotics.

55 😵yes 55 injections on 🐐goats, 🦙alpacas, 🐑ewes and 🦌reindeers yesterday.

Bloods 🩸and faecal samples from reindeer off for analysis.

5/6 members of staff a day who can’t be furloughed because of the job responsibilities🧹.

Thankfully we have volunteers to help buffer the loss of other staff.

We are only on Wednesday 😐the previous week was very similar and next week looks set to be the same with 🐹guinea pigs to be castrated, 🐄cows and 🐐goats to be treated and all horses, ponies and donkeys to have their 8 week hoof maintenance with farrier. 🐎

So with all that’s been said i kindly ask if you have a spare pound or two to donate. We would very much appreciate the support. We are treading water at this very moment and we know we need to fight to get through this tough period until lockdown restrictions are lifted.

We did receive some financial aid off the government for dec and January but no information of any further support moving forward this is hard to pill to swallow when we have hungry animals. The simple fact is we need your help .... if you can. If you’re able to help and would like to support the animals then the link below will take you to donations page where you can donate and be entered into our fortnightly draw to win a prize. There is also a wish list of food if you would prefer to do that. Just select the 1st or 15th of March and select the draw you would like to enter. Every penny will help care for our beautiful animals and hopefully we will see some light at the end of this dark tunnel soon.

Everyone who has supported thus far we truly are thankful 🥰

Please keep safe and well
