    Story

Sadly John at such a young age has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has a lovely wife and young family . https://www.facebook.com/JohnnieMeeks/videos/vb.517982705/10153296205787706/?type=2&theater . After so many request from friends to me who would like to help this family I have agreed to help them do so by setting up this funding page , So John can concentrate on his health situation along with his wife and five amazing kids , of which the youngest is 2 years of age. while we all try to help ease other matters that without any question of a doubt be putting added pressure to the situation . a little bit of Johns approach :I’m not entirely sure where to start with the story but most of you know my background and how lucky I am to still be walking/wobbling around the earth. A long fight with cancer in my late teens/twenties left me with a high above right knee amputation and a list of health complications I won’t even begin to bore you with. The short version is I haven’t really ever been 100% healthy since I originally went into remission but learned to adapt to try and live rather than wallow. I’m going to skip that meeting as it was awful. Not so much for me but for my wife & mum, they were just shattered. Cancer had returned, It had started around the small intestine and had spread to the liver. Fast Forward again to the following week and I was back at the dreaded oncology, Can’t word how much I hate that place, It’s a feeling of pure dread. I’ve just spent so much time there and it’s rarely good. We met with who is to be my consultant and has experience with this form/type of cancer. It’s relatively rare (Sounds familiar). It’s called a Neuroendocrine Tumour but is more commonly known as a NET. It starts in the hormone cells in the body around the gut and travels via these cells. For now it is slow growing/spreading but there are no assurances either way on how it will develop. It is incurable therefore terminal. .
