Story

The Monarch's Way is a 625-mile (1,006 km) long-distance footpath in England that approximates the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after being defeated in the Battle of Worcester. It runs from Worcester via Bristol and Yeovil to Brighton.

In 2018 Lee-Stuart Evans was the first man since King Charles to complete the route in its entirety non stop. He currently holds the Fastest Known Time of 16days 11hours and 48mins. In the process he raised over £3000 for the Monarchs Way Association.

This August Vic Izzy Owens, The Happy Runner, will attempt to complete this route. Currently there is no recorded FKT for a female to have completed the entire route non stop. In May 2019 Vic took part in The Monarchs Ultra, a race held along the route, but alas her journey ended early.

It would be amazing if you can show your support by donating some pennies to the Monarchs Way Association, a not-for-profit organisation which has the almost impossible task of up keeping the trail. They are self funded, a small team of around 45, all of whom give of their time voluntarily. The association ensure the route is fully waymarked and promote the history connected with the route along with the guide books to assist walkers and adventurers as they travel along the trail. The association don't receive any outside funding, its all raised from sales of the guide books and hand drawn maps of the route by a very talented lady within their team.

The dream is for the Monarchs Way to be made into a National Trail.
