We are the Social Enterprise group at the Perse Upper School, Cambridge, and we are raising money to help rebuild the Perse Hostel at Him Ganga School in Rawadolu, Nepal. Rawadolu is a small village located South-West of Mount Everest, and although it is largely self-sufficient, it relies on outside financial help for large building projects, such as the school. The Perse originally helped to construct a hostel at Him Ganga School in 1996, but it was completely destroyed by the devastating Gorkha earthquake in Nepal on 25 April 2015. This meant many of the school's students, who live very far away (up to 5 hours' walk through mountainous terrain) could no longer attend the school as they were not able to travel the long distance into school every day. We are raising money to rebuild a girls' hostel for students to stay in during the week so they can receive a proper education, something which we often take for granted. We have organised a couple of different activities to raise money for the rebuilding of our hostel. Firstly, we are crowdfunding for charitable donations in general. We will be recognising donors who give generously (£50 or more) at the hostel, probably on a plaque we will erect at the hostel once it is reconstructed.

Our main event is a set of co-ordinated dinner parties to take place from 9th March 2018 up until 19th March 2018. These dinner parties will be held by generous members of the Perse community wishing to contribute to this charitable activity, who will host 10 people each paying £10 to attend. Participants will partake in events related to our cause, for example a quiz about Nepal.
