Story

Please help us raise funds to cover professional fees incurred in challenging the planning applications and working to ensure The Plough stays at the heart of Appleton life.

The Plough Inn is the last remaining pub in our village of Appleton in Oxfordshire. A third planning application was registered on 8th October 2018 following the withdrawal of the first application by the developers and the refusal of the second application by the Vale Planning Department.

This third application still proposes to build all over the proper pub garden and would reduce parking spaces, all of which will be vital to the pub's future success.

The Appleton with Eaton Parish Council and the Pub Working Group oppose the proposed development as it would severely damage the prospects for the village to have a thriving pub in the future. To challenge the current application, we are taking professional advice which comes at a cost.

Having a successful pub in Appleton will benefit all villagers and we are looking to raise money to cover the existing and prospective professional fees associated with the application. The Parish Council had not budgeted for fees like these and hence we are asking for contributions.

The money will go directly to the Parish Council to cover the cost of professional fees and should there be any excess, it will be used to support other village facilities.
