Story

Last year I ran the Great Scottish Run 10K and managed to raise £2060 for Poverty Relief run by Glasgow Central Mosque. This year, I was due to run the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon but it has unfortunately been cancelled due to COVID-19. So, instead. I have signed up for the Virtual Great North Run. This is a virtual Half Marathon which will be run on 13 September 2020.

Once again, I hope to raise some money for Poverty Relief. Any money raised will be used to help them continue their weekly food kitchen and supply over 100 food parcels each week to asylum seekers and refugees in Glasgow. The project had to adapt significantly during COVID -19 but has still managed to provide its service.

This project is close to the heart of my friend and colleague, Umar Hussain, who works hard volunteering and raising money. Please dig deep. Thank you!
