I've raised £500 to provide inventory for the red box project boxes.

In the past I've provided sanitary support to girls in Africa so that they may continue with their lives a little easier, I believe it's every young lady's right to go through this phase every month without having to lose their dignity. Recently, I read a post a friend made about The Red Box Project and I was absolutely gobsmacked to discover that girls in the UK are also missing school due to period poverty. It had never occurred to me as my mum always made sure I had products, and in turn I make sure my daughter does also! I decided I could either let everyone else worry about it or I could use some of my free time and resources to help. I contacted my local branch, set up a meeting and became their newest Co-ordinator for our area. Then I set to work to try and get myself established as a collector and provider in my area. So far I have a donation point, a possible collection area and donation's promised to me of red boxes. We don't just supply towels, knickers, wipes and other essentials at this time are also needed! I am trying to raise money to get a good stock up on the items I need, so I can start providing girls in the Maidstone, Medway and Dartford areas sooner rather than later. Please donate whatever you are able to this cause and allow me to get some boxes set up and ready to go into some schools as soon as they arrive back for the new school term!
