Story

I started Theresa's Tiny Treasures in October 2015. The aim of this registered charity is to provide baby bereavement photography and keepsakes to families of babies miscarried or 'born sleeping'. I also see families whose baby have had a neonatal death, died of SIDS or died unexpectedly due to an accident or illness. I have seen children up to the age of 18 who have been involved in accidents and suicide.

Registered charity number 1169080

The charity provides hand and footprints onto ceramic which are taken home by me, glazed, fired and then returned to the family.

Also provided are plaster castings of baby's hands and feet. I can take moulds from a baby as early as 10 weeks and then then they are filled with a fine plaster. If I am able to, I also take moulds into a 2-part silicone which can be taken home when the family leave the hospital.

The charity provides footprints in sand (over 30 weeks) which are made into 3d glass made by pouring in molten glass at a local glass maker. The charity has some amazing people who crochet blankets, knit and crochet angel pockets, tiny cribs and clothing for babies tiny to term and beyond.

Many other keepsakes are provided if there is enough funding for these. These items all cost money and will always be offered for free to any families needing the services. I would hate to ever put a price on providing memories and have had some wonderful donations that have all been put to good use setting up and running a new charity.

I provide sibling books and toys.... but most of all I am always there to listen to a story from the past or the present. I have edited and digitalised photos from 50 years ago for someone in Greece, I have sent a keepsake to Iran to a mum who was never able to see her son or even attend his funeral, I have posted numerous keepsakes all over the country to families who have nothing to remember their baby.

.............. I really wouldn't ask if I didn't need support as I know times are hard for all of us.

I run this charity around working 2 other jobs. Occasionally families need to wait several hours for me if I am at work, but I always attend when asked to even if this is very late into the evening and during the night. I plan never to let anyone down.
