Story

This is our friend Matty, he has just turned thirteen. He was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumour in December 2016. Matty had an eight hour brain surgery operation just before Christmas in 2016. He had six weeks of daily chemotherapy in the morning then radiotherapy in the afternoons. His current treatment plan involves having 48 weeks of gruelling chemotherapy, 8 cycles in total - he is now completing cycle number 5.

After the surgery Matty had limited vision, his hearing was impaired and he was unable to walk. He continues to have extremely poor balance and needs to use a wheelchair for travelling longer distances. Matty loved sports, especially playing football and he lived life to the full! His tumour and treatment have left him unable to do the things he used to love. Sadly, the cancer has robbed him of his old life; he misses it and he just wants it back!

We really want to give Matty some of the pleasures he has missed out on over the last year. We also want to make a valuable donation to Rainbows Hospice https://www.rainbows.co.uk/. Rainbows are a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Matty and his family have received wonderful care and support from Rainbows and we want to help them to give something back.

Thank you for your support and donations.
