The Rochford Supporters are creating a landmark event the only one like this ever to have been staged in the UK. We like many others are sick of Developers rampaging over our green spaces and building massive housing developments regardless whether the infrastructure can support it or not. They care nothing for the disaster and chaos they leave in their wake so long as they get their huge profits. Here in Rochford we have challenged a development named the SER8 a piece of fine arable land that was wrongly adopted by a former Council. This was refused on the grounds of insufficient road infrastructure. Our small rural road classified as the busiest class 'C' road in the district is constantly gridlocked causing chaos for all who use it. We have fought this for 2 long years now and our Councillors have now stood beside their residents and refused this development. They are our Heroes! However the developer Bloor Developments will now take this to appeal which will have massive financial implications for our small Council. Developers have so much money they rely upon their financial might to make sure the Council backs down thus buying the result they want. 80% of Developer appeals are won. These odds are wholly unfair, unbalanced and unacceptable. Therefore, The Rochford Supporters are attempting to raise funds to support the Council who have just supported us. It is time the man in the street stood up to these greedy Developers and say Enough is Enough! Please give whatever you can to this fund raiser if you cannot afford to give much then maybe make a small weekly donation but obviously it would be incredible if people can give as much as they can afford. We need to raise a huge amount of money because this will be a mammoth undertaking. Money to us means a lot, but to the developer it's just wallpaper. This landmark gesture could be an example to others that the people are not as insignificant as the developers think we are.

Should the funds go unused or are only partially used then we can either: Use the donations to fund local causes of your choice which would be chosen by the donors. For donors who donate a sizeable donation then you can request your donation back if preferred. For those donors out of our area then your donations can be refunded or perhaps you might like them to be donated to the NHS. In the case of refunds there will be a minimal deduction which will be the Just Giving fees which will be charged. Mel and Chris want to say a massive 'Thank You' all to you lovely generous people. This is our lives our homes and our town so now let's take some charge of our own destiny and show Bloor the lengths we are willing to go to in oder to stop them!
