Story
Toward the end of last year, our local communities were deeply saddened by another loss of someone dear, a gentle soul that touched the lives of everyone he met. His larger than life personality and cheeky nature will be truly missed by so many. To honour his life and others before him, we the women of Ewyas Harold and nearby communities, namely The She-Wolves are coming together to raise awareness and funds for healthy minds.
We are taking on the challenge for varying reasons but all have the drive to break down the stigma surrounding mental heath. For us a weekly walk, chat and laugh with friends can make all the difference!
We would like to split any monies raised between a local project that will benefit all in the surrounding area and a local charity that supports mental health concerns.
*Local projects - to purchase some outdoor gym equipment for Ewyas Harold Recreation Ground.
*Local charity - Herefordshire Mind
The challenge: Gower 50K. We will be walking 50 kilometres, that’s 31.25 miles along a coastal route of the Gower Peninsula on Saturday 23rd September 2023. This gruelling path will test our mental and physical capabilities and at times our friendships but we want to make a difference and know together we can do it because together we are stronger!
The 17 challengers are:
Kelly Hollens, Lucie Clewer, Sally Probert, Lauri Lloyd, Sarah Chapman, Sarah Jones, Clare Sage, Michelle Williams, Chrissie Williams, Lucy Sevenoaks, Tina Pritchard, Christine Watkins, Rachel Evans, Emily Clewer, Cheryl Harley, Claire Campbell and Kim Jones.
