Story

We would like to say thank you to everyone who has taken part in the shoebox appeal this year. We are truly overwhelmed by the response we have had to our little Facebook group group and are blown away by the generosity of those who have taken their time to put a box together.

We have been moved by seeing the pictures of your children taking part in the appeal. Teaching children about charitable giving and community spirit at Christmas time is something we feel strongly about. So strongly that we want to take this further and make shoebox appeals bigger. So strongly that we have registered The Shoebox Fairies as a charity with the Charity Commission.

We hope to be able to provide shoeboxes throughout the year to New Mums and Newborns in need and to donate birthday boxes to children experiencing difficult social circumstances. We want to develop a relationship with nurseries, schools, colleges and universities to make the Christmas Shoebox Appeal bigger, better and eventually who knows? Eventually Nationwide?! We know these ambitions are big.. but so is the scale of increasing poverty in the UK.

Little did we know when we agreed to set up a Facebook group to try to encourage donations from our friends and family it would lead us a journey to set up our own charity. We would love for your support in our new venture - if you would like to help us by donating a small amount to help our cause it would mean the world to us. Your donations will help go towards purchasing items for our boxes, essentials for starting up The Shoebox Fairies, and towards distribution, storage and transport costs.
