Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October I leave for my biggest challenge yet, a 30 day trek across the Himalaya in Bhutan - The Snowman's Trek. More people will summit Everest in 2025 than will complete the Snowman's Trek. We will be walking between 3,500m and 5,700m with 10 of us in the expedition, supported by a team of sherpas.
We are incredibly lucky to be sponsored on this adventure by Laureus Sport for Good who currently support more than 300 programmes in over 40 countries and territories that use the power of sport to transform lives.
Founded in response to Nelson Mandela’s challenge, issued at the first Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco in 2000, that “sport has the power to change the world”, the vision of Laureus is to use sport as a powerful and cost-effective tool to help children and young people overcome violence, discrimination and disadvantage in their lives.
Over the last 20 years Laureus Sport for Good has raised more than €250m for the Sport for Development sector and, together with their partners, has reached and helped change the lives of almost 6m children and young people
In addition to Laureus, I will also be supporting Prostrate Cancer UK following my stage 2 prostrate cancer diagnosis in February this year (now fully in remission) as well as the SBS Association in honour of my great friend and co-leader of the Snowman's Trek, Wayne Hoyle, and all the invaluable work this incredible unit carry out for us all, mainly unheralded.
