I'm raising £50000 to Buy Resources for Deaf Children at The Syria Association for the Deaf

As Syria emerges from 14 years of hardship, the challenges for the Deaf community remain dire. Deaf children and adults face extreme isolation and lack access to essential resources, education, and opportunities. Now, more than ever, your support can make a profound difference.
Syria is beginning to rebuild, but Deaf individuals are often excluded from education, employment, and vital information due to a lack of interpreters and resources. The Syria Association of the Deaf is working tirelessly to bridge this gap, but they need your help to continue their efforts.
In our last campaign, your generosity helped raise £2,557.41, which has been preserved and reinstated into this fund. To adapt to the evolving needs, we have set a new target of £50,000. These funds will provide education, interpreters, books, workshops, and better facilities to empower Deaf Syrians and preserve Syrian Sign Language.
Between July and August 2025, I plan to visit Syria to personally deliver your support to the Deaf community. During this visit, I aim to work closely with the Syria Association of the Deaf to ensure your donations are used effectively. This trip is vital for understanding their needs and seeing the impact of your contributions firsthand.
Deaf awareness is about more than communication—it’s about inclusion, understanding, and ensuring equal opportunities. By raising awareness, we can empower Deaf Syrians to participate fully in their communities.
Your support helps us:
* Train interpreters to bridge the communication gap and preserve Syrian Sign Language.
* Educate communities about Deaf culture and accessibility.
*Provide resources for Deaf Syrians to access education, employment, and services.
*| Education: Supplying books and training for Deaf children and adults.
* Interpreters: Ensuring access to vital information and opportunities.
* Workshops & Events: Building skills, fostering community, and preventing isolation.
* Improved Facilities: Enhancing resources at the Syria Association of the Deaf, established in 1961.
Having visited Syria before, I have witnessed the immense needs of the Deaf community. My film, The Silent Side of Syria, showcases their resilience and the impact of the ongoing crisis. I am also working on a documentary to highlight the stories of Deaf and disabled individuals in Syria, focusing on their lives and potential.
Let’s come together to ensure no one is left behind. Every donation—big or small matters immensely.
