I've raised £20000 to give a present to a cause close to our hearts.

We have all we need to be happy and we have decided not to register for wedding gifts. Really, we are not expecting gifts.
Being surrounded by the people we love the most is our best gift. However, for those who feel they would like to celebrate with a gesture, please consider donating to a charity we have supported for some years and is close to our hearts, The Xmas Project.
The Xmas Project completes projects of solidarity: concrete, feasible, urgent projects for those who live in situations of serious difficulty in the world. The idea was born from the desire to give an answer to an old discomfort that recurs every Christmas and birthday: the discomfort of the needless gift. We all give different gifts for Christmas and other celebrations: gifts full of affection, gifts in love, gifts we fell in love with, hurried gifts... a thousand gifts. We support this charity to do something to bridge the unimaginable gap between the excess we have and the little that others don't have.
Some of the Present Projects to date: in 2022, we supported ResQ with life-saving packs and fuel for sea rescues of children, women and men leaving African shores for Europe; in 2021, the Samburu community in Sererit in Kenya was supported with access to education and breakfast and lunch every day for its children; in 2020, after the pandemic left children even in Western societies more vulnerable, we supported a centre for safe play and refuge from society for children in fragile relationships in Milan.
The Xmas Project replaces a present with a needful gift for someone. We would like our Wedding present from you and us to be a gift of solidarity to someone in need.
We are working to identify a meaningful project to target for The Wedding Present Project and will update this page with details when we have them.
With love.
